About Jamie

Jamie Horton Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a deserving graduate of Cherokee High School who intends to pursue a degree in Coaching, Physical Education and/or Special Education.

Jamie was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Jamie received his Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Georgia and a specialist degree from Walden University. Jamie began his career teaching History and eventually moved into teaching Special Education. Jamie had a 20 plus year career in coaching and was able to positively impact thousands of student athletes lives. Jamie had a larger than life personality and a heart to match. Jamie enjoyed playing golf, relaxing at the beach and loved his Georgia Bulldogs!
